ENROLMENT REQUIREMENTS

The British Columbia Regiment (DCO) is currently hiring. There are some basic criteria that must be met before someone is allowed into the Canadian Forces.

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age before 1 July of the year of enrolment and generally not older than 57 years of age
• Applicants must be Canadian citizens.
• Applicants must have a minimum Grade 10 education or six credits (from a British Columbia educational institution or equivalent from another province); and
• There are also aptitude tests, physical fitness requirements, medical standards, security clearances and other enrolment standards that must be met.

There are also a number of documents you require (official school transcripts, letters of reference, etc.). It may take some time for you to collect these documents. In addition, it will take on average one month (and sometimes longer) to complete the enrolment process, medical, aptitude tests and security checks for the Canadian Forces. If you have a preferred month to start your Recruit Training, you should visit the Regiment well in advance to start your application for enrolment as early as possible.
