MISSION STATEMENT The mission of The British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaught’s Own) RCAC Museum Society is to preserve the heritage of the Regiment through the collection, preservation, interpretation, display of related artifacts, books, photographs, documents, works of art and the history of the individuals and units of the Regiment since 1866, in facilities which are dedicated to the memory of those who have given their lives in the service of the Regiment and Canada. ORGANIZATION Since 1982 the Regimental Museum has become a showpiece of the Regiment. Under curator Greg Loughton (who enrolled as a Private) the jumbled artifacts collected over the years have been put into order, with new display cases being built and uniforms being displayed on mannequins. When Greg left us to become curator of the Royal Military Institute in Toronto, Capt Bill Edgar (ret) took his place temporarily. Temporarily soon became permanent, and Bill continued to run the museum with the help of the Museum Committee. Today the museum is run by a dedicated staff of volunteers, with Mr. Bob Hall sitting as president. Over the past few years many new items have been donated and purchased which are now on display. Most artifacts are owned by the BCR museum society, we do have some items on long-term loan from the Vancouver museum. The museum is open upon request as well as most Wednesdays.
